Many students are scurrying around right now trying to get their applications together for Masters of Fine Art programs. This is such an exciting but stressful time. As a teacher of ceramics, I find it very exhilarating to watch. Right now I am lucky enough to have a student, Christine, in my studio working towards her application deadlines.

I have written recommendations for her and we are getting ready to fire her final ceramic pieces so we can photograph her portfolio. Being five years out of my graduate program I have nearly forgotten all the effort and coordination it takes to even apply to schools let alone get in. I think Christine has the drive and skills to get into school, but I guess we will have to wait until March to find out if I am right! Good luck to all the students out there brave enough to apply for a life in the arts! It can be a very rewarding field.
