by Arthur of Arthur Halvorsen Ceramics
Jason Walker
I love Jason's work and I love the drawings that are on the pieces. Last year when I was at Penland, I got to see an unfinished piece of his and fell in LOVE with it!
I met Susan junior year at MECA when she came to be our visiting artist.
She was the one that cast the spell and made me fall in love with slip casting.
I had the pleasure of meeting Amy when the MECA ceramics majors took a road trip to Philly.
(Some of us may have take a side trip to Atlantic City, but we won't go into that story.)
I instantly fell in love with her! I love that she combines ceramics with found objects.
Ian was one of my professors at MECA and his wife Kari is my kicking-in-the-butt friend.
I love the text and graphic design feel to his work, very thought provoking.
Sergi's from what I know about it is that it's pretty large in scale. Also I know that it's 3D yes but since the surface is covered in china paint and underglaze pencil when you look at his work online you can't tell what's 3D and what's drawn. I love it, and totally crafted beautifully!
Please go out and see them for yourself if you get the chance to do so!
awesome arthur! glad you included isupov, i LOVE his work since i first saw it.
ReplyDeleteWhat 5 people would you of included?
ReplyDeleteI think Beth Cavener Stitcher should be mentioned... and perhaps also Marilyn Levine! :)
