Reading the same stories every night seems to be working for him, but I'm getting a little bored. As my mind wandered one night a few weeks back I remembered how as a young girl I would sit in my room and read long past my own bedtime. My favorite books were those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books that were so popular in the 80's.
I’d go back and forth between choices, carefully weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each before flipping the page to see what effect my choice had on the progress of the story. Wouldn't it be great if they still made them I thought.
Evan is a typical boy, he loves "diggers" and dinosaurs, rocket ships and baseball. It took me months, but I managed to find some great novelty fabrics (I needed 36!).
Interconnecting lines will give the storyteller the option of taking different paths to different blocks meaning never-ending possibilities for fun and adventure. Begin your story at any block on the quilt - and when you reach your happily ever after, curl up for a nap. Now that the top has been pieced I look forward to perfecting my free motion quilting technique – my first real free motion project on my Pfaff Performance 2058!
I was so excited with how it was coming together I went out and bought a batch of girl themed fabric, so next up is a female version. They'll be available at Tactile Baby in 2-3 weeks.
What a great post! I love the concept and its outcome.
