The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl

From April 15 until Sept 5, 2011, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston will be exhibiting works of art created using or inspired by vinyl records. The ICA is the first museum to host an exhibit focused on vinyl and I'm really looking forward to checking it out. 41 artists from all over the world created the 99 pieces on display. This was taken from the ICA website:

"Bringing together artists from around the world who have worked with records as their subject or medium, this groundbreaking exhibition examines the record's transformative power from the 1960s to the present.

Through sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, photography, sound work, video and performance, The Record combines contemporary art with outsider art, audio with visual, and fine art with popular culture."

Who wants to go?!
